'Paranormal Activity'

These two words that have been in existence since 1920, but irrespective of that people have shied away from accepting what it really is. And, what it really means. 

illiteracy could be one major inference why, not to forget fear being a prominent one.

Compared to the discovery of the word, it was really late until people started talking and discussing about it and holding the possibility of it being true and not just someone's hallucination or an illusion.

To start with, the word 'Paranormal' is made up of two words.. 'Para' and 'Normal'.  In most definitions of the word paranormal, it is described as anything that is beyond or contrary to what is deemed scientifically possible. To put it in a layman's language, it is anything beyond the realm of normal.
Now, the question arises as to who gets to decide what is 'Normal or not?
 

Not, digressing from the topic, centuries ago, there was this folklore in Rajasthan about a Rani being killed by her own husband at her own palace in her bed.  Her husband, the Raja, was reported to die in the exact same condition. And, since then sightings have been seen at that deserted place of a woman crying away.
Different people have had different versions of this story, but this is supposed to be one of the very first paranormal sightings that have been spotted in India.

As, I finished reading the last sentence, The clock struck 2 am. I heard Dad snoring away. THAT was my cue to make as little noise as possible even though my mind has some other plans. The gasps just couldn't stop. And, chills ran down my spine, again. Half an hour before, if anyone would have come up to me and talked to me about any sort of Paranormal activity, I would have snorted and made fun of the poor soul even if it happened to be the guy I had an immortal fire of love for. But, this was something else.

Half an hour back : 1.30 am

Stretching around my legs on the bed with the laptop on my lap, I had reached new heights of boredom, heights which I believed no one could surpass. Yeah, Facebook could do that to you. And, I knew the fact, that inspite of complaining about how pointless Facebook is, I would still go back stalking people's photos and lame status updates after some time. But, this time, I'd explore more of the internet, I'd decided.
And, that is how I ended up on youtube, It all started then.
A video clip, on the right hand side managed to catch my attention, mainly 'cos of the no of views it had garnered. I mean, 1.2 million views is not a mean task, right?
Clicking on the video clip which enlarged it to make it more accessible to me, I'd read that the video was titled as ' Simran possessed'
Laughing to myself, I thought maybe this was some teenage kid's lame attempt at scaring people. I almost didnt play it. But, something changed my mind. Maybe, the 1.2 million views? Curiosity took the better of me as I clicked on the 'Play' option after it took his own time to stream. And, what I saw was something that I could never forget. Something that questioned and changed my whole perception bout paranormal activities.

'Could it be possible?' ' Can it be that all this is true'
These were the only two questions running through my mind the entire time, I decided to google up about it and find more informal on paranormal activities.

And, I haven't been able to stop since.

Khushboo Khanna - Part 2

Sipping on piping hot coffee while I sat there waiting for my friends, I aimlessly eavesdropped on the conversations that filled the chilly winter air. I found it quite interesting to notice how a place like Costa Coffee could turn into my observatory. Lost in transition of thoughts I snapped back to reality when a nearby conversation hooked my attention. A group of teens were discussing something very enthusiastically. It was a video that had become a rage on YouTube. I was trying to catch the name when I finally heard what they were discussing. Simran Possessed. The name sounded uncannily familiar and forced me to strain my memory. I gauged that I had seen this footage too. It surprised me how something I took so lightly and forgot caught fuel and spread like wild fire now.

These young adults seemed inquisitive about the video and what was happening in it. As time passed, my friends joined me for company. I engaged them in the very same discussion. Now I was intrigued too. There was something about this video that kept us coming back to it time and again. As if some supernatural power wanted us to think about it. Whatever it was had left an imprint on our nascent minds. Everybody around me could associate with it. People spoke of their life stories and how they could relate to the video. What happened to the girl in the video? Was she possessed? Did someone chain her soul? Didn’t she have any power to control?

This got me back to where I had left the last time. I wasn’t expecting this paranormal footage to garner so much attention that it crosses 1.2 million views on YouTube. Who knows why this was even shared but someone seems to have a story to tell. This is probably where her book beings. The rest? The rest, is still unwritten…

Simran Possessed - A Review by Khusboo Khanna

Idle as I was, I browsed through the net one evening…Youtube being a popular choice for the ones looking for recreation; I followed where it took me. Facebook was open in another tab. As I browsed my home page, I was left aghast by a link gaining popularity. A video, a footage that spread like viral. Within 5 days of its Youtube upload, it has gathered over 40,000 + views.

 It seemed surreal to me. Scary as it was, I still wanted to know what hid in something that was titled so horrifically “Simran Possessed.”

Biting my nails as I sat there, it seemed like “leaked footage” at first glance. The video kept me glued to know what happened to the girl...who she was. How did that happen to her? There was a story left untold some truth yet to be heard. A violent manifestation of a ghost. An unbelievably terrifying tape. Makes me wonder if this was reel or real. Can this happen to people? Do they come out alive? I’ve heard of paranormal thrillers. Paranormal to my knowledge is anything that is deemed scientifically not possible. It challenges the origin and the existence of certain activities. Watching this clip brings back the memory.

The question still lingers in my mind…what happens when someone takes over your mind, body and soul? Who possesses the power to control? Watch this to know more...
